Lemon and Tangerine Piñata Cake (Guest Blog)

A bit of an unusual post today - my friend Nadine, whom I always talk baking with, made this amazing Lemon & Tangerine Piñata Cake for a Dutch cake competition. Of course I'm happy to help her round up some votes, not in the least because I think it is quite a feat to make such a cake without fondant or marzipan! I think it shows great creativity. You can check out her blog here. Now for a message from Nadine:

The faint sound of footsteps had been following you for days when, suddenly, a little piñata appears. He flutters his eyelids and whispers with a sweet voice:¿Vota por Nadine, por favor? As you turn around to ask what he means, the little creature runs off, leaving a trail of colourful candy behind him. Was this a dream? Or was this just a cute story to lure you into voting…
Please vote for me HERE :) (click "stem", if you're Dutch, you could win a 25€ giftcard for sweets shop Jamin!)
Thanks to all the kind people who got me on the front page of the Jamin Cupcake Cup, I was given a wildcard for the final round of the competition! My task was to bake a cake within the theme of Colour Explosion. I took my inspiration from Mexican piñatas, because to me they are the perfect embodiment of the theme with their explosion of colours and candy. My piñata is built out of lemon rainbow cake and decorated with tangerine meringue buttercream. After the voting is over I will reveal how to make your own piñata cake!
¡Muchas Gracias!
